Best catch for Ford Ranger

The best thing to do with a DI motor. Installed at 63 miles, driven 500 miles and filled 1/3 of the can with whatever might be clogged in the intake. On the way back I drove another 500 km with the same result. When I see that, I believe in this product. Installation isn't bad, but it's not super easy.

Ideal for oil filters and accessories

Only about 200 miles from installation. Quick couplers work well. Installed in factory holes in my 2020. Seems well made, boost doesn't drop. A must for direct injection engines to prevent excessive carbon buildup considering you no longer have injectors spraying fuel onto intake valves to keep them clean.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Poor Quality Hoses

Excellent Material Separator; However, the hoses are of poor quality. Installed it on a new Ford Ranger and started smelling gas in the cabin eventually I traced the problem down to the hoses. I have replaced the hoses with high quality fuel hoses, if Mishimoto replaces the current hoses with high quality, it definitely deserves a five star rating.

Mishimoto's catch looks like it came in the truck.

The product is very well made and looks like a professional installation. There are various videos that explain how to set up the device and I highly recommend watching them all. Installation is easy, but not easy. It takes a few hours and a lot of patience. Walk slowly and follow the directions. All in all a great and well thought out set.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Installation seems more complicated than it should be.

To facilitate installation, remove the driver's side tire and use an interior gauge if equipped. I tried grounding it with the bus on and it was almost impossible to connect to the red connector. Once I removed the tire everything was a lot easier and I got it done in no time. If you're like me and don't know what PVC tubing looks like, watch the video from step 3 and pause to study the cable. I tried the guide and took a coolant bath. But I'm new. As for the work, I'll have to update later.

I can't put my hand down to make the connection

I chose this oil separator for my ranger because it looked like a clean under the hood install and the video provided showed that it was easy. It arrived quickly, the product was well made and met all the specifications. Then I tried to install. I removed the driver's side tire and accessed the area around the oil filter as shown in the video. I disconnected the electrical connection and loosened the cooling pad holder. I found the line that needed to be removed. I was able to access one end of

got help for oil filter rebuild kit

I did quite a bit of reading to determine if I needed a drain pan for my 2019 Ford Ranger. The Ranger is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-litre ECOBOOST engine, and many of the articles I've read suggested that the catch can is a good idea for any turbocharged engine - it prevents oil from getting to critical points Places that can lead to carbon deposits in the engine. Blow-by injects oil into the air intake system. Mishimoto seems to have a good product and reviews, plus it looked easy to…

If you're looking to add a catch-can to your ranger, this is for you.

Like others I researched it to see if it was necessary and there was pretty strong evidence that in turbocharged direct injection engines like this pressurized blow-by causes extra deposits caused by the valves. My Ranger only has 3,000 miles so I wanted to add this as a preventive measure. I probably have more experience with cars but not with these new engines (not a mechanic but not afraid to take things apart to some degree). Well, I've looked at cheaper versions of tackle boxes, but once…
