Not Accurate Enough

Based on our own experience, the measurements taken with this device were consistently off by a noticeable amount. While the build quality and feel of the device are nice, this flaw makes it unreliable for use in precision work.

Pros
  • Good build quality
Cons
  • Measurements are consistently inaccurate

Incredibly accurate butt depth measurement

Wonderful product, second to none Mitutoyo quality! Used it to measure the depth of the pistons in the cylinders of an old 1930's Hudson engine to determine the proper cooling/compression order of a custom head gasket.

Pros
  • Ratchet and bolt clamp for accurate measurements
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great micrometer! I like it way more than my Starrett.

Excellent micrometer. Super nice ending. And the thimble works smoothly. Even though the ratchet is plastic I find it much more comfortable to use than the pinion and I also find it more reproducible.

Pros
  • Satin chrome on the thimble for better readability
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
