Mizuno Women's Wave Inspire 16 Waveknit Running Shoe for Optimal Road Performance Review

I'm usually a size 9.5 in Mizuno but I bought 10 based on reviews. I consider this my sixth pair of Mizunos and they are by far the worst. The heel slips and the toe is short. This creates chafing in the heels and toes (which is very strange and I've never experienced that in any shoe). It's definitely the right size, but it just doesn't fit. I gave them 2 stars because the color is cute and they bounce well.

I don't know, maybe it's just my feet, but I've been wearing this model for years. With the last update (to this particular number) my usual size was too small. I usually run/walk/jog in my old MIzunos, ordered the same size was too small. They switched to the next size, but now it's too big :( I wonder if they resized to accommodate the texture of the waffle, which may have been more stretched (so they scaled it down). I love Mizuno and have never had any problems with it. However, they are small and create a feeling of tightness. I wore them around the house for three hours trying them on and they were comfortable in my heels but the seams at the top were so tight it made my fingers tingle, I untied them thinking I might have tied them up what a helped a bit, but the seam was still chafing at the top of my leg. Like other users, I feel they are shorter and narrower than previous Mizuno shoes I've worn.

I ended up sending them back - size 9B fits the same as Saucony 8 1/2 Narrow. I was looking for a super soft shoe as I think I have a stress fracture and need a little more softness. While the sole, particularly the heel, is very soft, the shoe wasn't as soft and comfortable as it looked. Also, I have relatively high arches and they're really flat in the arch, but when you change insoles, there's not enough room in the shoe. Considering the price, I didn't want to experiment with arch supports…

These are really good running shoes. This is an update of the Wave Inspire 15. I wore 15 and eventually wore them out. I prefer this new version. It's not much different, but there are definite improvements. The Wave Inspire is a "stability runner" designed for individuals who are penetrating/rolling over and need more support. This is me.
