Old model supplied (see photo)

As you can see in the attached photo the old model (M1-110A) in the photo in the description was supplied, not the new model (M1-110). upset. You should first call the seller to ensure that the product currently being sold is in fact a new model or not.

Original but from old stock

This filter is a genuine part but is obsolete stock. While this is a great product and I will be using it, be careful it was made in 2017. The box was a little shabby and the filter a little dusty. Apart from that everything is alright. Newer filters have an A at the end of the part number. We recommend that you simply go to your local parts store and purchase a newer filter model.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • So far so good

Excellent build quality and price

I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil with this heavy duty oil filter since I bought my 2007 Nissan Xterra and have no complaints. I normally only change the oil every 10,000km and have never had a problem with this filter. The build quality is excellent and for the price you can't beat this Mobil 1 oil brush. I know I will be buying these filters for all my future cars, along with my wife's Rav4!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Be careful when opening the louvers

This filter has louvers through which the oil must flow after it has passed the filter element. Blinds are probably used because they are cheaper to manufacture than openings. The problem is that many of the filters I've tested at retail, after seeing my lovers partially open, have either unopened holes or holes that look like hair. So when this happens it's much more likely that the filter is in the bypass and not the oil filter! Use FRAM XG instead of that overpriced Mobil1.

  • Handy
Cons
  • Crumpled

Oil change once a year.

About 5 years ago I switched our cars to Mobil 1 oil and filters and literally change the oil once a year at the annual inspection. That worked out great as both cars are about 10 years old but don't need any further engine maintenance. Here's a great tip for buying oil if you're a member of Costco - about every 3-4 months they're offering $10 for a 6 liter case and you just can't beat the price when it's on sale. As several people have mentioned, keep an eye on price fluctuations and I always…

Worth the extra cost!

This is my standard filter for my 2010 Nissan Xterra. I change the filters every 7000km and have never had a problem with these filters. They are well built and well worth the premium on the cheap price. After opening a few oil filters to see what they look like inside after a few thousand miles, I will never use a cheap oil filter again. Your car engine is too expensive to risk pieces of filter paper getting into the oil circulation system, and cheap filters often use paper as the filter and…

Works.: Filter

About $45 for 15,000 oil and filter. You'll save about $80 on every oil change. How is that possible, the average oil change is $25 (Autozone/Orielli) every 3,000 miles (because that's in those big drums at the oil change location, no matter what label it says on the drum. Use regular oil for 15,000 miles with at At least 5 oil changes 15,000 miles divided by 3,000 miles equals 5. 5 $25 change = $125 I charge $125 - $45 ($15,000 oil + filter) total cost of the oil change That's a saving of $80…

Fits perfectly. Breeze Installation

I have changed my engine oil for many years. I used this for the first time on a Honda car. I was looking for a Mobil 1 filter for my car at Revain; this was suggested for use. Dimensions and size are identical to the old filter installed in my car. Installation was quick and easy. I'm a little confused by the reports here that this filter was leaked. I followed these simple oil filter installation instructions, which by the way are also shown as nice drawings on the side of the filter housing…
