Not very suitable for 220 for antennas

Purchased because of the touted 220 band capability. While the SWR was under 1.75 on 2m and 440, the SWR was at least 2.75 on the 220 band. I am back.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great - antennas

I attached this antenna to a ridge on the metal roof of my store about 15ft high and spoke to a 2m repeater 100 miles away. He has a standing wave of 1.2. I think it works great.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I'll text back

Not for the 220MHz band.

Do not attempt to use this antenna without connecting it to an SWR meter. My SWR was 3-1 over 147,000MHz. I had to shorten the antenna by about half an inch to get 1.2-1 agreement on the full 2m band. I cut the antenna off about 1/8" at a time. This is not a tri-band or quad-band antenna. At a frequency of 220 megahertz the SWR went towards infinity. With this antenna in the 220 megahertz band you are guaranteed to burn the finale in Your radio Group 440 has a perfect match of 1.1-1 This is a…

Works fine if.

I bought this antenna for a QYT tri-band radio. It works fantastic! but sometimes I'm not sure what kind of antenna it is that has a lot of noise. If I put my hand on it without passing, of course! The noise disappears. I checked that everything is grounded, but I think the antenna is sensitive to the environment and needs an additional ground. The rest works great! So in my opinion a great antenna but it takes attention to detail when you have to work with so many bands. Ground antenna better.

  • Easy to use

Mid-range tri-band antenna for mobile portable operating systems

Seems to go to 2m 70cm but was unable to analyze at 220 as QTH had to be left out to get a better spot. That's good, the coax cable can be less than an average of 17 feet, but it's serviceable. You can adapt it to your trunk, etc. Well designed barge mount. Use a stationary mobile, use an Ammonix tri-band portable radio for another great app. inside at the radiator heater it was 1.3:1 on high power, low and medium, no SWR, even omega plate, perfect, tecived 220 repeater, 25 million distance…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Has disadvantages
