At first I thought the whole thing was plastic based on the reviews I read but that's only partially true. The 90 degree elbow that connects to the water supply is made of metal. It's painted black, so you'd assume it's plastic, but it's not. It really is metal. Chrome or whatever color you choose is plastic. I give 4 stars because the whole article is not made of metal, only part of it.

I built a new shower and saved that detail for later. I opted for the chrome nipple and some trim. Next I thought that maybe there could be a suitable solution to this task, and here it is! When it comes to sanitary facilities, you pay for quality. This is the high visibility part and if I went cheap I would have to stand there every time I showered and be reminded that I went cheap not premium. I'm so glad I bought this part. Everyone who has looked at my work seems to have focused on that one
