Effective Strips for Chemical Analysis

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice I found these strips to be incredibly helpful in quickly and accurately measuring molybdate levels in a range of substances. The color-changing strips are easy to read and provide clear results... The only downside is that the container is not very durable and can easily break if mishandled. Overall, I highly recommend these strips for anyone involved in substance analysis..

Pros
  • Quick and easy way to test for molybdate levels.
Cons
  • Limited range of measurement, only measures levels from 0-350 strips.

I will only use as a qualitative test.

I work in industrial water treatment and try to keep molybdenum in the 100-200ppm range. I was hoping to use these strips to quickly check inhibitor levels. A fairly large discrepancy was found compared to the DR 900 high range molybdenum test. For example, sticks are listed at 250 to 300 ppm and DR 900 at 105 ppm. I think this is a good use for simply determining if there is any molybdate left in the loop. In addition, the colors seem to remain constant. So if you measure the color over time…

Pros
  • Packaged in a wick bottle to protect the strips from the elements
Cons
  • Crumpled
