I bought this splitter because I wanted to connect two monitors to an A/V surround sound source. First, the item arrived a day earlier than expected, so my 4th of July was absolutely amazing! It was a very easy connection and worked very well. Before purchasing this item I was using a traditional splitter and the signal was very unstable, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. So far this product is working very well for my application.

This is a great product if you just want to use it to transfer data from a security camera or watch video from a video source like DVD/Blue Ray or display your calculations. For my test, I set up a camera in an existing dance studio in hopes of capturing the actual performance and displaying it simultaneously on two monitors 50 feet apart. This product is good for video signal extension. We use a desktop computer for PowerPoint and for video presentations in our church. Projector distance is more than 25m, HD signal and we are using an Epson PowerLite Pro G6800NL projector with 7000 lumens on a 9x12 screen with very good results. The Monoprice HDMI cables sent to us are so stiff that they cause connection problems. We will try to use more flexible cables to solve the problem. I bought a Monoprice unit hoping to use it a full 50 meters (164 feet) with a MacBook Pro as my video source. I purchased two 164 foot Cat 6 cables from Blue Jean Cables (custom made to this length).
