I bought this product with the intention of connecting a Markbass amp to a custom cabinet. For this purpose I installed Neutrik 4 Pole Speakon connectors. Unfortunately, the connection that a chord offers is pretty patchy. It can be gained and lost by touching a chord or even musical reverb. Obviously, a chord that cannot transmit and sustain a signal is utterly useless, no matter how cheap it may be. I will be returning this chord in exchange for a Neutrik cable. As always with Monoprice this is a good quality cable. The connector design is very solid, the cable is excellent. It's 12 gauge cable (a bit overkill for the length) and feels thick and trained. The only problem I had was that the connector is a 4 pin speakon connector, not a simple 2 pin connector, even though the cable itself only has 2 conductors. This is a big problem for me as I can't use it with the 2-pin Speakon port connectors that are installed on my speakers. Hence the 3 star rating.

If you like turning your speakers on and off then these headphones are for you. Otherwise, DO NOT BUY THESE CABLES. The connectors are a poor Chinese copy of the Nuetrik NL-2. Some, but not all, will not connect to the regular Neutrik connector, causing many intermittent problems. UPDATE: More such connections have failed. Remember this is a 2 wire cable only, not for a 2 wire amp - you need a 4 wire cable for that. But the connectors are 4-wire and not bad quality. I use them from my bass amp to connect my two boxes and they work great for that purpose. I always check the connections when I buy a cable, so this case was no exception. Even after seeing some really depressing reviews on here I ordered one anyway (call me a perpetual optimist). I can't speak for everyone, but I haven't had any problems. To be on the safe side, I dismantled the connectors and found everything in order - the wires were neatly stripped, all screw terminals worked properly, all connections were tight. I checked the fit of the plugs in the jacks on my amp and cab and they certainly clicked - there was no loss of sound or noticeable signal dropouts.

I bought this after seeing the NL4FC description and expecting the cable to have Neutrik connectors (in the picture it even looks like Neutrik connectors). However, they don't have Neutrik NL4FC connectors, they have an NL4FC type connector. I actually like these plugs better than the Neutrik NL4FC plugs, the locking mechanism and the plugs themselves seem to be much more durable than the Neutrik brand and the bottom of the plug has a thumb contour which is such a simple design change but helps
