Powerful Addition to Your Home Audio Setup

This subwoofer adds serious kick to your sound system, delivering deep and booming bass that fills the room. This is a great addition to your music system.

I was a bit wary of buying something like this without hearing it first. I've been buying stereos since 1980. This 8" subwoofer has the highest sound value. $111 for it? I couldn't believe it when I heard that. Sounded good when I first connected it to a pair of satellite speakers. After a 20 minute warm up, my jaw dropped in confusion down. It's not my main listening room or anything. This is the middle of the house where I can hear it in multiple rooms. The kitchen sounds a lot better now…

20 Hz my ass! - Okay, the audio is playing at 20Hz - it's just not what you're playing

OK, don't expect too much from such a flat subwoofer. But just for reference, a ported case should provide about 3dB of gain over a sealed case, all other things being equal. This is equivalent to using an amplifier with twice the power in watts. Anyway, I bought two of these subwoofers and they don't compare to the one sealed 12" Velodyne subwoofer I'm looking to replace (at 1/4 the combined power of the two subwoofers - 80 watts btw). The woofers, plus the bass reflex design, these things…
