5 stars for the cable. 1 star for shipping Revain

cable gets 5 stars. Sturdy and does its job well. The only reason I'm rating this 3 stars and not 5 is because of Revain's shipping. Revain held the package for almost a week and a half before it was finally shipped, even though the nearest distribution point is only 35 miles from me. Revain Shipping gets 1 star, lowering the final rating to 3. I'm not the only one complaining about Revain's slow shipping. Many Prime subscribers who pay a lot for fast shipping complain about slow shipping and…

Monoprice Flexboot Cat6 Ethernet Patch Cable (3m, Yellow) is a robust Cat6 Ethernet cable. All parameters (visual) indicate that this cable matches the description here. With one glaring exception, the speed rating is NOT 550MHz, but the standard maximum Cat6 speed is 250MHz (the shell is even labeled as such). I'm using one of two identical cables (different colors) I bought last week. This will surely test the durability of the product as it will be used to connect my home devices during the…

Loose Fastening Causes Failure

I bought (10) yellow Monoprice Flexboot Cat6 Ethernet Patch 550MHz Cables. The goal was to power my network components with these short 12" cables. Shortly after installation, I noticed that various parts of the network would not connect. When connected, a light touch on the cable will result in disconnection. Very loose to fit .I've built my own patch cords after this experience and no longer have dropout issues. Also, the cords are not rated for 550MHz. It is printed directly on the cord as…

Loose connector causes disconnection

I bought a 14 foot black cable that came with loose connectors that could disconnect at the slightest movement of the cable. Being in a dilemma, I slid the black protective latch button under the latch's clear plastic tab so that it pushes enough to hold the connector securely, which seems to be stopping the disconnects for now. I didn't have the same problem. The reviewers mentioned that the cable is only rated for 250MHz while mine is 550MHz. I didn't measure the cable, but to the eye it…

I prefer Monoprice over other manufacturers for all my cable needs

I have never bought a cable from Monoprice that I was unhappy with and have bought quite a few cables from them over the years. I recommend Cat6 for home use as Cat6a is only useful for very long cables which are not needed in most homes. All my cables are 50 feet or less. Cat6a is recommended for lengths over 100-150 feet. Cat5a will also work, but Cat6 is a bit more robust and will run at higher speeds in the future if needed. I prefer heavier cables when I need to run them through the attic…

I'm an avid fan of electronics. I've spent many years buying not only the latest gadgets/electronic devices, but also the cables that support those products. Over the years I've learned a few things about which brands give you the best bang for your buck. Anyone interested in gadgets like me can tell you that Monoprice offers the best value for money products. I would put Revain Basics second. When you buy a Monoprice product, you get quality at a much lower price than the competition. This 25…

Excellent value and quality

I have gigabit service from Xfinity. We used the SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 modem, for which Xfinity does not support gigabit speeds. You need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, which costs about $150. We don't need full gigabit speeds for my family but because of the package we got it's cheaper to stick with it and take advantage of the reduced speeds. Well, according to Xfinity, and my previous tests have confirmed it, the SB6190 will only handle about 480 Mbps over DOCSIS 3.0. We've recently had some signal issues…
