Description of πŸ”§ Monro-Matic Plus 32217 Shock Absorber by Monroe Shocks & Struts

CONSISTENT RIDE -- Velocity Proportional Valving (VPV) technology and all-weather fluid containing special additives to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction and an overall smoother ride. RELIABLE PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration. RESTORES RIDE AND HANDLING -- Larger bore provides more efficient damping control to provide consistency and a smooth ride (where applicable). BUILT TO LAST -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while banded piston and bronze reinforced guide provide durability. GET MORE MILES FROM YOUR RIDE -- Designed and validated to meet OE spec and deliver consistent performance.

Absolute FRIEND. A little over a year failed. .

Failed for just over a year. The warranty is misleading and speaks in the language of "2 year warranty". The seller said "Contact Tenneco". I did and Tenneco laughed and said "THIS SHOCK IS NO GUARANTEE." What a rip off. The damaged shock absorber also caused a WACANE in the tire and destroyed the tire as well.

Pros
  • BUILT FOR DURABILITY - Self-lubricating liquid seal retains gas and reduces excessive piston rod friction to reduce premature wear, while banded piston and bronze reinforced guide ensure durability.

Factory superelevation. fits replacement parts

I ordered two shock absorbers 32217. I received two shock absorbers with part number 32217. One was correct . There was no other. As said, both products had the correct part number, but the 'defective' one had the bottom mounting hole that was too small for the mounting screw to fit through. Also, the top mounting bolt had "excellent" threading. The supplied nut was "coarse". The bolt on the correct damper was "rough". I did not return the defective shock absorber because the return shipping…

Pros
  • RELIABLE PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas keeps the tire in contact with the road for improved ride and handling by reducing ventilation
Cons
  • No mold required

The quality control of the production leaves a lot to be desired.

Meh. If they last a year, that's enough for my old 175,000 mile car. $21 and 15 minutes of work, not bad. However, I do notice that one of the shocks had a rubber support bushing along which runs a bolt in a small bushing that is not fully inserted into the metal ring. As a result, it didn't fit into the mounting plate as it should. Luckily I have an arbor press and I was able to push it in enough to install. But someone without a press may have to return them for a replacement. Pretty bad…

Pros
  • SMOOTH RIDE -- Velocity Proportional Valveving (VPV) technology and multigrade fluid with special additives to reduce friction and provide smooth shaft response and a smoother overall ride
Cons
  • Medium
