Description of ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Performance: Monroe Shocks & Struts OESpectrum 39052 Shock Absorber

EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Full displaced valving, tuned to each vehicle, adjusts to road extremes to provide a smooth ride while free floating dividing piston separates fluid from high-pressure gas charging for reduced shock fade and aeration. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- High pressure nitrogen gas charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and tight damping response provides vehicle control. CONSISTENT RIDE -- High-temperature OE all-weather fluid contains special additives to assist with extreme temperatures and help reduce oil breakdown. MAINTAINS STABILITY -- Monotube technology maintains vehicle control over bumps, dips and potholes for vehicles originally equipped with monotube shocks and struts. CONTROL AND DURABILITY -- Fluon-banded piston provides consistent sealing between piston and high-strength pressure tube for better control, increased durability and longer service life. BUILT TO LAST -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear.

Terrible. They knocked extremely loudly as the insides can kind of knock.

Terrible. They pounded very loudly as the insides can somehow move back and forth inside (which shouldn't be). Both units I've bought have done this - hopefully it was a bad batch but I went back and chose a different brand which is quiet and works as expected.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Exactly what I needed.

The old air shocks in my 2005 Rendezvous were a problem. They leaked air and eventually burned out the pump motor. They were also completely unnecessary on a vehicle like the Rendezvous. Those were the answers. They fit perfectly and cost a fraction of the cost of replacing stock air shocks, not to mention the burned out engine.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Big shocks! the best shock absorbers

They ride well and are very similar to the original shock absorbers. The shock absorbers make the car drive much better than the old worn ones. I have used sensa-trac on several of my vehicles and have always been happy with it. I have not had to replace defective or bad Monroe shock absorbers on my vehicles. The dampers for my rendezvous come on and off very easily. Great little project that can be done in just an hour.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

These shocks are ideal in place of auto air adjustable shocks. They're paired with Moog 81039 springs, although they're a lot stronger than the stock springs, with air-adjusted suspension, and I was able to eliminate that crappy auto-leveling air shock. The ride is much stiffer but more connected to the road.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Good but not great
