Description of πŸš— Premium Monroe Shocks & Struts 58617 Shock Absorber and Coil Spring Assembly - Improved Ride Quality and Control

REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual). EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces. LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade.

Smooth ride thanks to dampers, struts and suspension

They worked great on my 2001 Explorer xlt 4x4. I replaced my shocks with Gabriel shocks but still had a hard ride over bumps due to worn leaf springs. I replaced those shocks with these Monroes and they fixed the problem. My Explorer works just like it did when it was new. I am very satisfied with these shock absorbers and can only recommend them.

Big, bad and beautiful. bad in a good way.

These kicks are a real find. Sturdy and beautiful. Remember that they are larger than the original equipment. Please make sure you have enough space for it before ordering. I had to move the spare tire because they are so big. Really good shock absorbers, the rear suspension really pulled up. Also added leaf springs with overdrive but that's another review lol.

2001 Explorer 4x4 SOHC

Fits great, they raised the rear about 2 inches and removed the infamous rear camber. You will need to use a jack to install it, first the top bracket and then a jack to compress the shock from the bottom and pin. I used a long screwdriver to align and then drilled through the stud. Be careful it will most likely slip off the jack and wiggle, I've done it twice so just be aware of the reach. It's worth it and to get the footpeg to the key with a screwdriver. Has been running great for a few…

WILL NOT FIT 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD

So my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD needs new rear shock absorbers. I read the reviews and according to Revain the manufacturer said they would fit my car. We received them, removed the tires from the car and unpacked the shock absorbers. You are very tall! Now I have to go back and I can't install my new shock absorbers. I've ordered new ones and I hope it's right this time. They said the new ones would fit. But they said the same thing about the ones I bring back.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Perfect fit for Ford Explorer Sport XLT 2DR 03

I have a Ford Explorer Sport 03 which I just bought and was in need of some maintenance. I've read the reviews about it and seen enough to buy with confidence. They fit perfectly. The equipment was good. Beat them with no problem. I had to use a jack to raise the shock to align the bottom bolt. Took a test drive and feels great! I saw a review that said the spring would rub on the exhaust. That doesn't happen with mine. I highly recommend them! Don't buy a cheaper shock absorber. The extra $20…

Fit 1997 Ford Explorer XLT RWD 4.0

Sometimes I tow a small 5x8 trailer to haul building materials or tools for projects. I looked to Revain to replace the rear gas struts because the rear left one was starting to sag a bit. I chose this one. Installation was pretty easy, but not very easy. They are quite heavy so consider holding them with one hand while holding the bolt in the appropriate mounting hole while with the other hand it can be difficult to reach and tighten the nut. Tightening the top two rear left side screws was…

Instant Wheel Arch Lift 2 "

These items are a must for the Explorer Sport. Completely fixes the rear sagging to the point where I actually had to use a jack to squeeze them together a bit to make them hang. The only problem I had was the rubber ring on the bottom of one of the springs was twisted, but all I had to do was put the ratchet strap on the subframe, compress the spring, lift the spring and the rubber to turn. Ring. They also strengthen your back a little. I can stand on the hitch and it doesn't move at all. I'm…
