Description of 🔧 Monroe Shocks & Struts 58651 Shock Absorber with Coil Spring Assembly

REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual). EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces. LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade.

Reduced "float " in my suspension.

My stock shocks were clearly worn out and this helped bring my suspension back to life. Additional springs help with towing. However, they do add a bit more "bounce" over bumps and potholes when empty.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Out of style

Stop driving my Aspen

Fits 2008 Chrysler Aspen, same as Durango. As I lifted the front end, I gave everything to the torsion bar. My butt started bouncing over the bumps. It was bad. The assembly of the coilovers that I received took about an hour. Straightened my aspen by an inch. Traveled over bumps and off-road. No more jumping. Very pleased.

Very loud. for parts

I installed these on my 2006 Durango They improved handling and reduced body roll when cornering. Also, car trailers don't make him squat as much. But they are loud. When I hit a bump in the road, the spring flexes and hits the damper body. They have a rubber grommet that's supposed to prevent that, but that's not enough. I had to drive with airbags.

  • Handy Ding

Monroe Sensa-Trac Shock

I was impressed with how they perform on Dodge Durangos. Durangos wobble quite a bit on bumps and potholes so I decided to buy them. After installation I noticed a difference in stiffness, but after the first dip in the road and then a pothole, the car still sways from side to side as before. They generally handle corners well, but not as described, with left-to-right wobble when hitting bumps in the road. Not overly impressed, but a step up from stock.

  • Always Loved

  • Some Mistakes

Amazing strats. Installed on my Durango as it should.

Amazing stands. Installed on my Durango as we will be towing it this summer and these shocks are making a world of difference. Not only does this help with towing and prevent my rear end from sagging (even without a weight distribution hitch it prevents sagging), but it also stabilizes my car when driving over bumpy sections of road. Seriously. The Dodge shocks made me feel like we were going to lose control every time we hit bumps or bumps on the HWY. Now the car negotiates bumps with ease and

MAJOR handling and towing improvements

I've finally replaced the bad apology for the shocks that came with our 2005 Dodge Durango with these Monroes. If you have one, you know how much it wobbles from side to side on speed bumps and other rough road conditions. These dampers eliminate lateral sway and make the ride stiffer. Very happy with them. We also tow a small toy dump truck with our Durango that has a weight distributed hitch, and the added help and stiffness of the Monroe assist springs really enhanced our towing experience…

  • Nice packaging

  • Can't remember

Big improvement!

Recently bought a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. A good car, but driving on bumpy stretches of the interstate was just plain scary at times. The suspension sometimes threw me onto the next lane. It scared the shit out of me the first time it happened, and it's from someone who's won multiple amateur road racing titles, so I'm not the kind of person who's usually uncomfortable behind the wheel. The car's shocks looked relatively new when I bought it, but they were the cheapest Monroe shocks money can buy.
