Description of ๐Ÿš— 58654 Load Adjusting Shock Absorber by Monroe Shocks & Struts

REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual). EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces. LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade.

It only lasted 3 months. Just pulled out my motorhome 2.

Only lasted 3 months. I've only taken my camper 2 times, about 250 miles in total. They squeak and rub against the feathers. They bounce too much, as if the dampers in the springs were no longer working.

Pros
  • Still satisfied
Cons
  • So far so good

Great for shock absorbers

I use my truck to tow a boat. Before the Monroe shock it dropped about 2 inches after hooking up my trailer, after I installed the shocks the rear end went up an inch in height and after hooking up the trailer it dropped an inch. Even when towing, the ride becomes more solid.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Mediocre

Good rear shock absorbers for trucks

Good rear shock absorbers for trucks. I put them on my 2011 Silverado. They're solid, but the rubber boot that keeps the spring from rubbing against the tube has shifted on both. Now my truck creaks like it's 20 years older. Currently looking for a solution without exchanging it again.

Pros
  • Refrigerated goods
Cons

Excellent shock absorbers for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

This is the second set of these shock absorbers that I have used on two different trucks. They give a little extra lift and carrying capacity. You are worth your money. Just note that a dual exhaust is a snug fit. I had to hit a bit with a hammer to straighten out a spot on the exhaust pipe so the hit didn't hit. Due to the spring, they have a larger diameter than conventional shock absorbers. Otherwise it's a big shock.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost never

Automatic Shock Adjustment

Order Vector Tools 11 1/2" Macpherson Coil Spring Compressor KIT Spring Compressor Tool if you don't have a spring compression tool. Easy installation after spring compression. Mounted on Silverado 1500 Z71 4x2 with fifth wheel installed. Rear without jack for Lifting the truck built into the driveway of the house. A bit tight but the 1/2" powered tools made it easy.

Pros
  • Sleek Design

Solid shock absorbers in shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Just installed on my lunch break. All my tools are at work so it was cake. It only took 10 minutes per side. Used a forklift on a hitch to lift the butt just enough to fit. The ride is similar to a new car, but slightly different. Difficult to explain. A little harder? Speed bumps are not so noticeable. Found time to do the front struts (also Monroe). Let's see how they hold up! still happy

Pros
  • practical
Cons
  • weak

A very good product so far. Won't last long

Wow what a difference. My original right shock absorber was bad and that fixed the problem. Driving without a load is ok, but not tested with a load. I will try to do a review in 6 months. Updated after 2 weeks. Not very happy anymore. The springs are rubbing against the shock absorbers and have already peeled off the paint. It makes noise but not enough while driving. I still love the difference in ride and don't expect it to last long.

Pros
  • Good performance
Cons
  • Will do

Aligned my best 2016 in parts

I installed these shocks on my 2016 Silverado Crew Cab. When I bought the truck I installed a 2 inch cross country front level. I then went ahead and installed the decked drawer system for the ARE truck, causing my truck to sag with the new added weight (500-600 lb.). We put these puppies on, not only did they raise the truck to standard height, but my driving improved significantly (day and night). I'm very glad I went this route and not air shocks.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Some minor things
