Description of 911278 Shock Absorber by Monroe Shocks & Struts with Reflex Technology

IMPROVES STABILITY -- ASD (Acceleration Sensitive Damping) valving technology adjusts to impacts, reducing roll and dive for vehicles with a higher center of gravity. EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Full displaced valving, tuned specifically to each vehicle, adjusts to road extremes while the larger bore provides more efficient damping control to provide consistency and a smooth ride. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special additives to assist with extreme temperatures and help reduce oil breakdown while larger reserve tube holds more fluid to run cooler. CONTROL AND DURABILITY -- Fluon-banded piston provides consistent sealing between piston and pressure tube for better control and increased durability. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration. BUILT TO LAST -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear.

Better than OEM quality

Bought these for a neighbor who installed them. He is very pleased with the improved handling of his 2005 Grand Cherokee.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Easy assembly Fits replacement parts

Just pop on a tire and a few turns with the wrench and they're replaced. Better quality than cheap Monroe shock absorbers for Jeep Commander.

  • Weight

bad quality control

well they sent me one back from someone who still had the original address of the buyer. Suffice it to say that one of them builds MUCH slower than the other and I'm not even sure which one is correct.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • i will write later

I wanted to like her, but I didn't even have her.

I wanted these but I haven't had them on my Jeep for a year and they are rusting. I'm a bit disappointed because the Monroe was supposed to be a quality part.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Protection

Now it's a pleasure to drive - shocks, struts and suspension

We installed them on our 2005 Grand Cherokee. The shock absorbers there were original, so the hardest part was unscrewing the bottom bolts. After that, they immediately jumped into action. The ride is now noticeably smoother, only when driving on the road and over bumps. Would recommend her.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Easy to replace fits shock absorber

put a lot of strain on the back. Easy to replace. Note that the bottom nut is welded to the Cherokee 06 mounting bracket. Just take off the screw. Unfortunately, my A-pillars are also worn out and need to be replaced. It's funny how it works

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • The communication with the seller

It's worth it! - Shocks, Struts and Suspension

Just replaced the original rear shocks on my Jeep Commander. 2006 with 120,000 miles, that's a long time ago. Doesn't matter! Beautiful product, I will do the front rack. My advice: use a penetrating lubricating spray to loosen the bolts. Again, it's well worth the money and it took me less than 30 minutes to do both!

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Expensive

Nice to drive and watch. Save $20 each compared to local parts stores.

Replaced stock shocks on a 2006 Jeep Commander that was pretty bad and didn't drive well. Installation is fairly easy, just make sure the bolts are very tight or the shocks will rattle and jingle a bit on certain terrain. The shocks come with rubber bushings but it's hard to tell as they're stiff and painted the same silver colour, which looks nice but is misleading. At first I thought they were running low which resulted in me getting very frustrated and calling local parts stores. Otherwise…

Pros
  • Still happy
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Great shock absorber and great AMAZON service!

This is a great shock replacement - I installed the kit on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 89,000 miles. Made a huge difference in the quality of the road ride, and now it particularly controls those ubiquitous speed bumps - even better than when it was new I think. I don't ride much off-road so I can't give an opinion. Very easy to fit - two (big) screws per side - didn't even have to jack up the car. An impact wrench helps as the threads on the bolts can rust a bit in 8 years…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some small things
