Smooth. best shock absorbers

Makes your pickup truck drive like a Buick. They ride smoothly and absorb bumps and potholes in the road. They put the original Bilstein equipment in the shade.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • not sure

Product arrived but oil is already leaking

I opened the package and the shock absorber is already leaking oil. I don't want to install it if the gasket is already leaking

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not automatic

Works great on my Silverado

I replaced all four shocks on my 2003 Silverado 2wd with these. They work great. The ride is a bit stiffer, which I like. They are smooth and predictably empty or loaded. I didn't have any problems with towing my motorhome either. I would/buy them again.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Safety

There was no socket guide.

There were no instructions for the sockets at the top. I worked in a driveway so I just reused the old ones because I knew exactly how they work. The shocks were definitely a lot stiffer than my worn stock shocks, but I didn't notice much of a difference while riding.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Upgradable

I installed these shock absorbers yesterday and 1 shock absorber in .

I installed these shock absorbers yesterday and 1 shock absorber front and 1 rear is already leaking and bouncing everywhere. I'll replace them and try them again, but if they do the same thing again I'll never buy them. And I will return for a full refund

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Nothing here

Monroe Reflex Mono Tube Shocks

I purchased this shock to replace the stock front shocks on my 2007 4WD Silverado Classic. These shocks are excellent, they make my truck handle and handle better than it was brand new. They're a bit stiffer than the stock shocks, which really helped when cornering and when loading or towing trucks. I wish I had bought and installed them a long time ago, I definitely recommend them and will buy them again.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Weak

Ride is equal or better than the original

Installed on a 2006 Silverado. The ride is as good or better than the originals. Monroe was supposed to supply nylon nuts for her top. If the top rubber donuts are properly compressed, the included nuts will not be able to hold in place. I have a pair of nyloc nuts in Ace hardware - coarse thread (7/16"). They can be tightened properly and they will stay there. Simply re-tighten the top mount and compress the rubber mounts with the nuts provided .

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Functionality

2001 Silverado new front shock absorbers! Definitely drive better

My 2001 outside cab Silverado shocks were definitely broken and needed new ones. I thought I should try them as they have good reviews and the price is quite affordable. With old and new. Two 13mm bolts are attached to the lower arm and two 13mm nuts to the upper part. I reused the two 13mm bolts and tightened the one 14mm nut that came with the new shocks. The whole process took about 1 hour for both sides. The ride with these new shock absorbers is much better than with the old blown onesโ€ฆ
