Description of Monroe MA779 Max Air Adjust Absorber

MAINTAIN RIDE HEIGHT UNDER LOAD -- Air chamber can be inflated or deflated up to 150 PSI to maintain level height with additional weight up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity is limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual). EASY TO ADJUST -- Special air fitting resists air leakage and ties into factory system (where applicable) or manually inflates with an air compressor; pair with Monroe air shock accessory and shock air hose AK kits (varies by application). EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Full-displaced valving on compression and extension cycles for a smooth ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Hardened and precision ground piston rod for consistent performance, sintered iron piston for enhanced durability and longer service life and lubricated air sleeve reduces friction for smooth operation. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and help reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.

Monroe air shocks are best for shocks, struts and suspension

Bought these for my Escalade to help align the car when loading and also when towing a trailer with 1-3 Harleys on board. The price was amazing and after a year still no problems. did they come in an unmarked box and all white with no production tags? So are you Monroe as advertised? I don't know but I can't complain even though there aren't any!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Reliability

expected white.

This is a great price and everything you need for installation is included (except tools). I have a white truck and there are many components that I buy in specific colors for specific reasons. Anyway, judging by the photo, I thought I was going to turn white, but I turned black. Of course the color doesn't affect the performance, but I was expecting/hoping for white as in the photo.

Great Price - Expected Performance

Bought air struts to level our Chevy Tahoe 99 when fully loaded and towing the boat. Ease of installation (if you already have shock absorbers installed) and completeness. The kit even included a couple of extra small o-rings needed to seal the overhead wires. The dampers are optional + they aren't too harsh when operating at a minimum pressure of 20psi when unloaded (to extend airbag life).

Standard riding when you don't need assistance descending with a load.

Black shock absorbers. Fits perfectly. The installation was absolutely smooth and very easy. Comes with two sets of setup lines, but you only need one unless you intend to run separate lines like some people do. Xie complained about hitting the top bolts. While this is true, it is not a problem and that is the nature of the design. Use a U-piece or wiggle with a long extension. Took me 30 minutes including the linework. The truck no longer sags and drives like the heavy Monroe truck shocks I…

does the job. Best Shocks

Purchased as an overload aid for the K1500 Suburban when towing a smaller trailer capable of towing 4000 lbs. Self installed in less than 3 hours. Everything you need for installation is included in the installation kit. Very pleased when they got the car in normal driving condition with a loaded trailer behind them. As other reviews have pointed out, they ride rough unless you bleed some air under load. Only thing is if you want white shocks like in the picture you probably won't get white…

Just installed these

Update: They've been working for almost 6 years now and they're still working great. I didn't really follow the instructions for deflating, so I usually use 70-120psi pressure almost all the time because the extra stiffness suits my riding style. Every time I tow a heavy trailer, they're in the 130-150 psi range with no problem. A HUGE difference when towing a trailer, the added stiffness of the suspension reduces sway and keeps the truck more level so I don't lose traction. sitting on the…
