Won't buy again: Coil springs

Coil ends don't line up like standard springs. I had to rotate the lower strut shaft to hammer the strut into the control arm on my 07 f150 4x4.

Excellent sources! best parts

I installed these on my 2013 F150 with just over 100,000 miles on the original springs and struts. Handling has become noticeably softer, which is good. Great replacement for worn series springs!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • So far so good

It differs from the factory, at least externally.

These springs fit my 2011 F150 but they don't match. The number of coils was different and just didn't look like the factory springs. I didn't dare to use them.

  • Comfortable

They will not fit the 2011 f150 as advertised. They are .

Does not fit f150 2011 as advertised. They looked preinstalled when I got them, assuming someone else tried and came back, no big deal, they'll be beaten up anyway. I spent hours assembling them when I realized they had 3 more coils and 2 sets of coil spring compressors couldn't compress enough for my shock.

Not the same as stock springs.

Two problems with these springs: 1. They have more coils and the same length as the stock springs on my 2006 F150. When compressed and installed on racks, the normal spring compressor will not come out of the space between the coils. I had to use 2 internal hook compressors on the outside to mount them on the shocks. The ends of the springs are misindexed (not the same as the drain). This is fine if you have new stands that allow you to rotate the bottom end to any position you like. They will…

Built-in Moog springs 81118 when installing Bilstein 5100 shock absorbers

SAFETY FIRST! I upgraded the coil springs with a set of Moog 81118 coil springs, new locking hub actuators and a new full set of 4x4 vacuum lines, lubricated and cleaned everything that could have been the same (6 hour install on my road myself, I find that not bad) SAFETY FIRST! (DO YOUR TOOLS HOMEWORK) Make sure you have the right tools! For F150 STX 4x4 2013; Heavy Duty Coil Spring Compressor (I used an 8MILELAKE Heavy Duty 280mm Hook Coil Spring Compressor), two jacks (I used 3.5t and 1.5t,

Pros
  • Easy installation

  • There are other interesting options.
