Just waste your time with Mopar position sensors

They worked fine in my 2006 Jeep Liberty. I originally bought a non-Mopar crankshaft sensor, but it failed after only 3 weeks. I went with this Mopar instead and haven't had any problems since.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Damaged

Mopar Original Manufacturer Part

I've driven my Dodge pickup at least 500 miles. The check engine light came on. This has indicated an issue every time I've ridden it in the past. Never replace this device with anything other than a genuine Mopar part.

Pros
  • Nice Packaging
Cons
  • So far so good

Mopar is your best choice

Buying a genuine Mopar is the only way to get CPS and CKS sensors. Non-Mopar sometimes don't work at all or only for a short time. You shouldn't mess with them. I buy a lot of "budget" parts, but I don't buy any other sensor for my jeep besides mopar.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Available in black only

I had to change the crankshaft sensor twice. First time I bought a cheap aftermarket replacement and very soon my problems returned. Bought for the second time - original - works perfectly! No check engine light, no stumbling when the engine is hot and the accelerator is pressed - all problems are gone.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • protection

Buy Genuine Mopar Parts!

Attempting to determine the cause of wandering random engine misfires (P300, P306, P302) and transmission speed sensor out of range on a 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7L. I read on a jeep forum that sometimes aftermarket parts can cause random problems with the PCM. I had already replaced this sensor with an aftermarket sensor during a repair and would never have guessed that the crankshaft sensor was the problem. I figured I had nothing to lose but a few bucks by trying the Mopar crank sensor. Installed

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • Some difficulties
