$20 repair for sensors

02 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.8 had check engine light on, cold start was ok but once warm it shifted and started hard, hard idle bumpy and it got worse, then shutting off the engine when approaching lights or overshooting the start, put on a new mass air flow sensor, it all went away, found this part cheapest at $20 and I had to get a tamper evident $8 but it worked perfectly, took a minute to install

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great price and easy to install

This MAF fit my car perfectly, was easy to install and completely eliminated the freezes I was having. Before installing, I watched a few videos. Based on that, we disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes to reset everything. The price was significantly lower than regular auto parts stores. Remember that you will need a special tool to remove/replace the mounting screws. Although they are fairly widespread.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • old

The car is right! good for mass air flow

I was a little worried about the price but felt it was bloody worth the risk. So I bought this for our 2000 Buick LeSabre. When it arrived I installed it in about 10 minutes. Our problems with electricity and fuel consumption have been solved! This took care of some of the hard shifts we had, probably due to lack of power. Would buy this for other cars too considering local auto parts stores charge around $200 for stock MAF sensors!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Protection

I wish I could burden the seller with troubleshooting.

First I gave 5 stars. This immediately solved my problem with acceleration. After about 2 weeks there was a problem with idling when the car was hot. I never thought it could be this sensor; In the end, this solved the original problem. Well, there were no OBD codes and all we could do was swap out the parts that could be causing the problem, always assuming it couldn't be that mass air flow sensor. We replaced the IAC valve, fuel pressure regulator, MAP sensor, PCV valve, vacuum manifold and…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Update available
