Motive Bleed Valve under Tools & Equipment

I used an aluminum capped 0118 on my 18 Silverado after the BBK upgrade and it worked great! Leak tested GOOD (lost 1lb in 6 minutes) twice with a thinner cap gasket. I didn't fill the tank so the liquid wouldn't go everywhere and just let the tank hold the pressure. This might not be a good idea for an old, flimsy plastic tank, but mine is relatively new and hasn't had any problems. Pocketed it, pushed it in, pressed the pedal three times with my index finger to put new pads in the calipers…

Metal cap damaged plastic on master cylinder

Works as stated. I use the dry pump method. The metal cap was very tight on both my 2016 branch and my 2013 Avalanche. When I finished bleeding the plastic master cylinder covers on both cars were very loose. The metal cap in the bleed kit ruined some of the plastic on the master cylinders. I ended up cutting out a few round pieces of thin plastic from used food containers about the diameter of a 1 3/4" tube of toilet paper. I removed the plastic wrapping from the lids and placed some of the…

A good bleed is good for brake tools

There are two ways to use this bleed. The first way is dry, where you pressurize the empty bottle while it's attached to the master cylinder and squeeze the liquid out while being careful not to let air through the line. The second way, and in my opinion more optimal, is to add new brake fluid to the reservoir, pressurize and pump fluid through the system, which unlike the dry method is a one-time connection if you need to refill the MC from time to time high. I bought a device with a suitable…
