If you sand cars you need this block

Great little sanding block. The holes in the block work like sandpaper suction cups to keep the paper in place when sanding with water.

Good quality and good price

Exactly what I expected and needed. I wrapped 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper around it and gently smoothed the clear coat on a large van before buffing. It worked flawlessly, especially on rounded corners.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Reliability

Not so hot what's up. in Power & Hand Tools

There's nothing fancy about this item, it's been recommended as a must-have by some DIY YouTubers, but there's nothing wrong with that and at the same time a rubber element or foam holder will get the job done. You don't miss anything if you don't have it.

Not very useful Best in hand tools

I've been working with wood for a while and haven't seen hooked sandpaper on paper. usually loops. Maybe there is loop paper for other uses. Anyway, the loop version is just a semi-circular foam sanding block. Not worth the cost.

Breaks easily on sanding blocks

I know this is a soft rubber and anything but my sandpaper shouldn't rip out of the corners after a single use. In order not to tear it, I had to dust the sticky backing off, and I still found spots that stuck too well. I don't know what notebook I had before as the name was fading but it lasted for years before becoming unusable.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Protection

Love it! I want it to be safe for solvents.

Love it. The material is just right - malleable enough to be used on light contours, but hard enough to create a flat surface. The hole structure seems to do a really good job of removing material. My only criticism is that the block doesn't appear to be solvent proof. I like naphtha or mineral spirits for wet grinding and have noticed some block degradation. But water works.

Pros
  • Grinding blocks
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great flex block but not sure how long it will last.

This block is ideal for people who need to grind smooth curves. There are two sides: the black side is a bit stiffer but still flexible, and the gray side is very flexible. I prefer to use the black side more often and feel the gray side doesn't last as long. It's only been in use for a few weeks and I can already feel it losing its shape. All in all a decent block. I wish they had a block that was all black side material.

give him a chance Finally It Will Work For You

There is something on this block that just works better. I have contour blocks, soft foam blocks, every Durablock block you can think of. longer. In combination with a 2k primer, it is possible to sand the entire panel with 1 or 2 passes. It tends to remember as it grinds back and forth along a contour. It took me a few uses and trials with this block and then it dawned on me that it works better than my other ones.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Questionable Purchase for the Elderly
