🧢 Motorcraft FC1080 Cap - Optimal Replacement for FC1079 When Stock Runs Out Review

DO NOT BUY! Long story short, I bought this for my 2006 Ford Ranger and it worked fine for a short period of time, then the check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic only to find that it caused my car to have a gas leak.

I received a nondescript fuel cap in a standard Jane plastic bag. Had no Ford part number, had no Ford identification logo. Fits perfectly and works as it should. is that a ford I do not know. Will it last 13 years and 150,000 miles like the original Ford? Just take a look.

I needed a new gas cap for my 2008 Mercury Mariner, my engine light was on and when I replaced the gas cap the engine light went out for about 5 days but then it came back . Gas cap checked, no seals. I need a seal to make sure it's the gas cap and nothing else.

There was an inscription on the underside of the merchant's cap. This leads me to believe this is a counterfeit Ford part. Time will tell I think.

Ordered this item, received it quickly, fits/works PERFECTLY and even includes a tether (which snaps in easily). Yes, it costs more, but less than what I spent on a couple of aftermarket caps that were junk (you might as well just stick a rag in the tank opening).

The gas cap came in a Ford Motorcraft box and the gas cap fits my 2005 Ford F150. There were no instructions on how to remove or install the cord holding the cover to the vehicle.
