Good product. Installation has been simplified with a pair.

Excellent product. Installation was made easier with a few tools from Harbor Freight (tie rod and tie rod puller, strut spring compression kit), some 1 x 1/8" square tubing, and a jack. This made removing the ball joint from the forearm very controllable (no jabs, etc.).

Pros
  • beautiful article
Cons

Factory ball joints have clocked up over 250,000 miles!

Installed on a 2005 Ford Taurus SEL Sedan after discovering that the factory dust seals on both sides were completely ripped off during an oil change. The originals lasted over 250,000 miles with no squeaks or noticeable play, so I definitely went OEM. However, since they have been in service for so long, the bolt was very loosely clamped into the lower wishbone. So try to be well prepared if you install it yourself or have it installed by a workshop.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons
  • Doubtful

Excellent product: spare parts

I often buy cheap car parts. I want to say that I know my parts very well (my job is selling auto parts); It was easy to buy these ball joints here. They cost about the same as aftermarket parts but they are quality. Ball joints are not easy to assemble, so it makes sense to only use original parts. OEM replacement parts are always of the best quality; If my original ball joints lasted 150,000 miles, the replacement joints will surely outlive the car.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Can't remember

The best spare part for your worn out Taurus!

I am a full time auto technician and when I had to replace the ball joints in my parents car I knew it would be Motorcraft parts or I would be doing the job again for the foreseeable future. Revain had the best price so I bought them and got the job done. If you have never installed dished ball joints on a Taurus you will definitely need a large tool in the form of a C-clamp as well as a set of Taurus/Sable ball joint press adapters, both available from Revain or in cans from your dealer be…

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Long delivery time
