Good for 60's and early 70's AMCs

Will fit 60's and 70's AMCs but it is 1/4" NPT and you will need a 1/8" NPT adapter for this suit. Yes, Wells makes one for my needs, but at sixty bucks, it's not worth forty bucks more than this one.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

For older cars without idiotic low-pressure headlights.

Works. The patent number is stamped on the old gauge to match the number on the new Motorcraft part. Old cars from the 60's-80's with a not idiot low oil lamp. Only for dial indicator showing oil pressure.

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Fixed parts problem

My 1987 Ford pickup had low oil pressure for a long time. I ordered a Motorcraft SW1547B oil pressure sensor. The replacement wasn't the easiest due to the location of the switch on the cylinder block. Now the switch is in my oil pressure and it is indicated fine. Revain had a switch at a good price and it was delivered quickly.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Almost OK

Bought as a replacement from a local parts store.

Bought as a replacement from a local parts dealer who was faltering badly in the heat. The original Motorcraft version works great. Supplied with threaded strap. Remove the tape and dispose of it in the trash. This is the main problem with oil pressure fluctuations as the band obstructs the small inlet. I'll buy more if needed.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Little things

OEM quality can't be beat.

OE quality and only a few dollars more than the regular home part you can buy at Autozone. This is a genuine Ford branded item. I was spending more money than I care to admit to replacing the oil pump on my 1987 F150 5.0L when I started getting low oil pressure on the dash. <sigh> This sensor turned out to be bad, understandable after 25 years of use.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Durable

Accurate, works perfectly.

Without replacement. Mid 90's rebuilt Fords that still have the sensor (pre 97 you can do this by shorting a resistor on the cluster for the oil sensor, after 96 the resistor is in the sensor) and it responds very well to RPM changes, high on starting and Depending on the engine, accelerating, mid or lower idle. Aftermarket devices just don't work properly or are slower to respond. The block is engraved with US patent 4079351 and is a great solution for an old engine. It's a shame Ford removed…

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • sad packaging
