🔒 Motorcycle Helmet Security Lock, GUAIMI Anti-Theft Lock for XSR900 2015-2016, MT-09 2013-2017, FZ-09 2013-2017, and FJ-09 2013-2017 (Black) Review

I ordered a "red" part for MT-09. I received a "black" part for a 2015 R1. I didn't bother installing it until the return window came up, so I think I'm stuck with a piece of junk that doesn't fit my bike.

Great for the price. I don't know how it would hold up if someone really wanted to take a helmet, but that makes it heavy enough. At least everywhere I feel good when I leave my bike. Four stars because the lock doesn't work very smoothly.

Optional fixed OEM pannier subframe on FJ-09 for model years listed does not leave room for this helmet lock bracket. Rating, the description does not mention this. I tried different mounting methods and all either didn't fit or broke the structure of the subframe.

Fits my 13ft FZ8. The reason for the 4 stars was the blue color that came in, it's a lot lighter than pictured and I wish it had longer rear studs as they only thread in a few turns. Not sure if I trust footpegs for a lot of weight but it suits me as I don't usually have a passenger. I will look for longer screws for the left side.

Update: no longer works. Lasted about a year. Garbage. The point seems pretty strong. Looks good, almost hidden. However, it is easy to install. The OEM hex head screws in the existing passenger footrest (where the lock attaches) are too short. You may be lucky if the 3 threads of the screw meet the threaded hole. I don't know if this will support someone's body weight when stepping on the footrest to get on the bike. ☹ Ps. Don't look for those special hex bolts in the holy store or home depot,

Was looking for a way to attach the helmet without having to lug around any cables. It fits perfectly on my 2017 Yamaha FZ-09. The build quality isn't great, it won't stop a determined thief from snagging your helmet, but honestly, what's to stop? grab and grab." At least it looks harder than running away with a helmet on, which I think is enough to deter most thieves.
