Great for my purposes.

Installation is a bit tricky but I made them to match the Motech engine guard for the KLR 650 I think they are rubbish. The only way to really stop them from rotating is to dig the screws into the bar without plastic, or wrap the bars in duct tape. When I'm happy with the exact position, I spot weld it to the rod, then the screws are redundant.

  • *Condition: Brand new, high quality
Cons

Great for my purposes.

Assembly is a little tricky, but I mounted it to a Motech KLR 650 engine case. The bars are 1 1/8". You only need to drill the backing plate one size up for extra stretch. A hole for a big screw. Plastic spacers for thinner bars are rubbish in my opinion. The only way to really get them spinning The only way to prevent this is to dig the screws into the stem without plastic or tape the stems and when I'm happy with the exact placement I weld them to the bar then the screws are superfluous.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good start but needs some work

I installed these footpegs on my KTM 1290 SAR. Unfortunately, the orange color differs from the guard bow by a shade or two. It looks like the welding problem has been solved. I had to swap out the bolts for regular hex bolts as I didn't have the clearance to insert the hex wrench. I applied a lot of torque to the pins to keep them still and they held. Of course, if the nuts were in the bracket, the welds wouldn't matter as the pressure would be on the bracket. I had to wrap the handlebars in…

The design is just plain wrong but fixable

When they are installed, any lateral pressure will cause them to rotate around the roll bar. The guard rails will just never line up properly to keep the rig from spinning. To solve this problem I drilled a hole in the tab on the bracket that lined up with the nut on the clamp. At the installation point I then drilled a 1/4" hole in the guard. On this modification I installed a #6-1.0 x 50mm cap screw through the tongue + guard and back into the welded nut on the clamp .The screw ensures the…

Disappointed with the fenders and boots

Footpegs fit and look great on my KTM Super Adventure. Even the orange color matched the orange KTM crash bars. I love the way they fold - just what I was looking for. However, the mounting design could be better. The mounting studs sticking out at the rear barely fit between the bridges and the sheath and threaten to damage my sheath on the first smooth lay (I hope that never happens). The bolts are only separated from your crash bar by a cheap piece of plastic. This breaks when the screw is…
