Great, but not quite 6'

Works great. Can be rolled up small. The extended length is not six feet but 4.5 I think. I thread it through my jacket sleeve and helmet D-rings and secure them to the bike with any padlock.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Satisfied with the product

Works as it should! It's all about keeping honest people honest! The hardened criminal will get everything you are trying to protect with this product. I entrust my Shoei Neotec II to him - so far so good.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I don't remember

Smaller than expected

I thought they were bigger. They're pretty small, but they're a plastic-wrapped cable. Not just plastic spools. Maybe I just made a mistake and reassigned now, but it doesn't look like they were 6ft of unwrapped cable. More like 3 feet. Whatever I was going to use them anyway. They should be closer to $2.50, maybe $3 each. $7 is cool for that.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Just what I need: Cycling

This works great with a helmet lock I bought at Revain for a few bucks. The cable is well insulated and does exactly what I wanted. It makes honest guys honest. While it could be cut or otherwise slapped with the right motivation, it's 7.00 cable types. Don't expect it to protect like a 1/2 inch chain. Two thumbs up.

Protection against everyday theft

Small diameter cable offers little protection against theft. I don't know if it takes a good pull let alone cutting the resistance. But sometimes the mere presence of a security cable will stop you from stealing. I found a stronger lock for less money at a popular motorcycle shop, but the convenience of buying here makes it worth it.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Useless features

If this and it works like a charm

Works exactly how I wanted it to. I don't think you'll want to stretch it to its full length for any length of time, but I've only had to stretch it 2ft max if that's the case and it works like a charm. I zipped it to a fixed mount on the front of the bike, the other end was threaded through my helmet on the right hand mirror and locked. They will break the helmet before they break the coil unless they have wire cutters in their pocket, which is extremely unlikely. This is just so passers-byโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Little things

Compact and lightweight helmet deterrent.

As we all know, any form of blocking is just a deterrent. However, I'd rather have some sort of mount (lock) on my nice full face helmet while stopping somewhere for lunch or a pit stop. Coiled cord is as advertised and questions answered. Lightweight and compact to carry in your pocket or on your bike. Rolled up about 6 inches. The loops fit snugly around my HelmetLok carabiner. But they slide. As mentioned, the memory on the coil is strong enough that you don't want to stretch the full 6โ€ฆ
