Not worth the money

Plastic bottles retain odors and air for a long time thanks to screw caps. These bottles always arrived dented even though the company had replaced them. Very light storage box if you want to use it while the beer goes through the refill phase. Even after a good cleaning, they remained in good condition when dried and stored until the next use. I switched to glass bottles with corks and everything is 100% better. Stay away from those bottles, IMHO.

Pros
  • Large selection

  • Volume

Looks like you have a bottle that has been previously opened

It gets the job done in a minimalist, unobtrusive way. These are standard 12 ounce plastic bottles with plastic caps. Yes, they are reusable, but the problem with caps is that they have tamper evident seals so the first time you open the cap, it comes off the ring. And each further use looks like an open bottle in front of you. What, I mean technically it was open before. So why use these security seals at all?

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Difficult to say

I am not satisfied with these bottles. It seems you can find better quality glass bottles for over a dollar a bottle. I'm not sure they'll last longer than three batches, but to their credit none have burst yet. I had some problems. with two lids closed, and even though it's "just two lids" this accounts for 16.7% of the lot. As long as they fit the size and reusability, but I'm looking for something more permanent.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No insurance

There is a difference

Some reviews say there is no difference between cheaper conventional cylinders and an oxygen barrier. Traditional cylinders are made of thinner plastic, similar to a water bottle. The O2 is thin enough to be compressed by forced carbonation, but definitely more durable. You can see how much easier it is to see through the regular bottle on the left. While the thinner bottles could handle 30psi for a forced draft carb, I can't use my vacuum bottle filler with them so I need to find someone whoโ€ฆ

Waste of money

I bottle more sugar than needed to get carbs and then vacuum at 149F for 10 minutes. I have a mix of those bottles and recycled Sprite and Dr. Pepper. Thus, under otherwise identical conditions, they had the same pressure and went through the same pasteurization process. These bottles were severely warped and deformed. It was impossible to tell that anything had happened to the recycled ones. So they're $2.27 a bottle and if I go to the grocery store I can get better quality bottles for $0.55 a

Perfect for the beginner brewer

Exactly as described and arrived quickly. Bought these to go with the Mr. Beer I was given. I had never brewed at home before and had no idea what I was doing. One of the upgrade suggestions I received for using these special bottles is to not damage the sealing tape on the caps while sanitizing them before bottling the beer. It's easy to make and a real upgrade if you're sharing your beer with someone. People are so attuned to opening these bottles and hearing/feeling the "click" of the sealโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Something is wrong
