Description of πŸ”₯ Enhance Engine Performance with Mr. Gasket 2470S Domestic ThermoCap 13 PSI-SLVR

Combines a pressurized radiator cap with a thermometer element that eliminates potentially dangerous guesswork. Lets you know exactly when your coolant temperature is low enough to safely open your radiator cap. To install just take off your old cap and screw on the new one. If the temperature gauge indicates that the coolant is too hot just rinse the radiator with cool water until the temperature drops into a safe zone. Also available in blue (part number 2470B) and red (part number 2470R).

Completely wrong description/part

Waited almost two months for delivery. Only to get a part that doesn't fit the FJ60 that was specifically listed as fitting. Will have to come back

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Broken in no time. in standard

Worked for a while but the small gasket inside broke. Lasted less than a year. Wouldn't recommend it. It got an extra star for being cool and useful, but not worth it if you need to replace it in less than a year.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Only available in black

Inaccurate temperature reading

The whole point of buying the product was to have an idea of the temperature. The packaging said 0 degrees, the ambient temperature was 75 degrees. Installed on the series cooler. The installation was safe and there were no leaks. When the engine reached an operating temperature of 190 degrees, checked with a thermometer and also an IR thermometer, the arrow on the cover reached 80 degrees. Doesn't even come close to reality. No needle adjustment. Don't waste your money on this product. It will

The motor is 190, the device shows 160.

Sounds like a great idea, but it didn't work for me. I first tested the meter in boiling water and it showed 211 degrees. So far, so good. Then the radiator is completely filled, the cap put on and the car warmed up. My new 180 thermostat opened up, my factory temp gauge was within range and I used an infrared sensor on the radiator face and the reading was 192. That cap/sensor just stopped at 160. I think the temp gauge on it should be longer. remain immersed in hot coolant. I'm sending it…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Nothing
