I don't know what the simulation branch is made of, I think it's ceramic. It comes with a wing nut and 2 washers to attach to the cage. The leaves are made of metal and firmly attached to the branch. I wish it was a little longer but Polly loves it.

My budgie loves this perch. He spends a lot of time on it and likes to scratch his head on the leaves. The leaves were made of durable metal, and after trying unsuccessfully to bite them off, he soon gave up. In addition, the perch is very attractive - it looks quite natural.

I rescued my lovebird in December. He slept high on the edge of his cage every night. He didn't use the perches we provided. I added this perch high up in his cage where he would hold on and now he sleeps soundly on this perch every night! He fell in love immediately.

I love it! They're the perfect size too! The reviewer who said they were dangerous is either crazy or doesn't know what they are talking about! The small metal leaves are perfectly smooth and blunt. Your little ones won't be able to scratch them! Definitely worth the money and I will order again! I rarely write reviews but this was sooooo deserved, I just had to! They're the perfect size for two budgies and if you buy a couple like me, they have great natural perches that won't harbor bacteria…

This is NOT safe! He comes back! Received this today and was very disappointed as to why the company would sell a product with sharp metal edges. The leaves on the branch have sharp metal edges. If a parrot jumps on it, it can hurt itself. The appeal of this item encourages bird owners to buy it and they still end up in a cage.
