MSD 8406 Distributor Cap Rotor Review

I received a white box with a MSD sticker on top of another sticker with a different part number. The sticker is made in China. This is NOT an MSD product!

Perfect fit and functionality at a great price. This solved some of the intermittent misfires at high rpm on my K1500 pickup with the original 19 year old cap and rotor.

Great product. Perfect fit for 87 K10 350 TBI, saved me from stumbling/misfiring at idle. The old cover and rotor were badly oxidized. My rotor was white, not red, but it works well and cannot be seen with the cap on. Definitely looks great with red MSD. Will buy again if this ever wears out

Excellent replacement for OEM cap and rotor. This is made of high quality plastic and fits better on the stock distributor plate. This prevents moisture from building up inside and doesn't cause the difficult starting situation common to older Chevy trucks. The contacts are better made of brass and metal and the plugs don't come off as easily. Only noted because screws are not included. To use it on a truck you need to provide two screws. This is the second MSD cap and rotor I have bought. The first cover was torn, obviously I didn't open it. The second looked fine until I noticed that the center electrode in the cap (carries current from the ignition coil to the distributor) was broken in half. Both lids were in undamaged packaging, which leads me to believe that the defect came from the factory and not from shipping. This is nothing but Chinese junk sold and sold as spare parts.
