I have a small pond and waterfall in my backyard in Arizona. He has water autopilot, but he constantly began to work and flooded the pond. My landscape architect built it 10 years ago and I found the brass hardware to be corroded. I cleaned it but the problem remained. It was the perfect replacement and the issue is now resolved.

This valve, while well made, does not suit me. The design is such that the valve works directly against the pressure of the incoming water. I have a small aquarium that can only have a short swimmer and a small swimmer. With my fairly high water pressure, they can't keep the valve closed. By swapping the inlet and outlet it will withstand the pressure, but it doesn't fit like that.

I use it to maintain the water level in a 55 gallon drum steamer. Works well! However, I did remove the internal O-ring on the valve assembly as it had deformed from the heat. Now it shoots water out of the end and out of the normal threaded part. I don't mind as the entire valve assembly is in my barrel. The actual sealing part of the valve is rubber and seems to hold up well to my faucet pressure and a 5" copper float on a 6" stainless steel stem. I inspected it today and it looked brand new…
