Replaces the lamp installed under the cabinet by the customer. It was easy to install, shorter than the light it replaced but much brighter. i love leds It is also nice that the light does not generate any heat as it is in close proximity to the worktop. The light it replaced was hot enough to burn you if you accidentally touched the lamp. I also installed a longer version in the laundry room above the washer and dryer. Much brighter than the neon lights it replaced.

I first bought these to put under cabinets on my desk. When I was remodeling my kitchen I bought 3 more to put under cabinets. They're pretty small (thin), they're not even visible, but they can emit light. The only thing missing is a way to attach the cord to the light, there's just a large access hole on the back of the unit. The box says "Hinged Cable Cover" but I haven't found that cover yet. I needed a replacement for an old under cabinet fluorescent light that was on its last legs and I discovered this light fixture. Installed in place of the old light, turned on and off. Manufactured for the European market with CE marking. The description of "Hardwired" is incorrect and misleading. Exposed live wiring is a direct violation of the US and Canadian National Electrical Code. The design of the installation of the lamp does not meet the standards. It's a shame, because otherwise it could have been a pretty good and cheap product. It is not UL listed for safety standards. This is a beautiful under cabinet light. I love how it spins and runs cool. Doesn't heat at all. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the connector terminal. I'm an electrician and I connect wires to terminals this small and they're strong! To make it easier I unscrew 1 screw holding the strip and pull it out where it can be rotated. Makes the wiring a little easier. The wire strip is well done in my opinion. I can tighten the wires fairly tightly without unthreading the small screws. Also

I've changed my rating to one star, note that a similar Revain unit with everything you need is a dollar less. Another excellent rating shows they cannot be coded due to an open knockout of live wiring that cannot be covered. IMHO if you mount this unit flush to the wall it can be safely connected (no exposed wires) and the terminal lugs are large enough for 12 ga (you need a solid core and a 90 degree pre-bent wire). Other reviews of these lights are correct. You get what you pay for. These lights are definitely cheap and very difficult to connect due to their construction. You don't need to be an electrician to hook up these devices, but don't expect to spend 10 minutes installing a unit. I think I spent about 30-45 minutes installing one device.
