Munin Review

I like how easy it was to set up, configure and monitor my system with munin! The graphs are very useful for showing me where i'm over or under performing in relation to other systems of similar size/environment etc. It's not as flexible when you need custom dashboards but this seems pretty niche use anyway so maybe its just an issue with our particular setup? We've been able to get some good insights into what has changed historically within our infrastructure which allows us to tune processes

Munin has a great community of users and developers. The GUI is very intuitive, allowing you to configure almost any graphing option.The plugin system allows for customizations to be made without modifying core source code. It's hard to find something I don't like about Munin. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful tool that provides a lot of flexibility in graphing options. The ability to monitor all of our servers from one location, it's easy for me as an admin or server owner/operator (as I am) because its web-based so no need install anything locally! It also has some nice graphing tools which helps with troubleshooting issues when they occur in real time rather than after hours / days etc have passed - this makes fixing problems much faster too!!
