This was the first of 3 different nail biting/thumb sucking products I bought to help my baby break the habit of thumb sucking. It worked great the first night, but by the second night the taste wasn't grotesque enough to stop her from sucking her thumb. Great for those who might be starting out with a baby who doesn't suckle as long but doesn't do the best for my 4 year veteran thumb sucker.

Update: 2 weeks after my previous review, this product is now unusable. My daughter sucks her fingers immediately after applying it, even after getting her thumb wet with it. Will look for another solution.———My 2 year old daughter doesn't like the taste but she still sucks her thumb 50% of the time. It was partially effective, was 100% of the time and I had to reapply multiple times throughout the day. I will look for an alternative when the bottle is gone.

The product is great, I mean it tastes horrible as my 8 year old son told me but it made him sick! I'm not sure if he has any allergies but by the second day (since he started putting his fingers to his mouth only 3 times because it worked) his voice got hoarse and he said to every time he did bad to put your fingers in your mouth. and his mouth never stopped watering. I've been using this product for a week now and my 4 year old daughter doesn't suck her thumb at all for the first two days. This product works because my daughter is motivated but otherwise she can still suck bitter tasting fingers. The first two nights the taste in her mouth woke her up, but after the third day she sucked her thumb all night and stopped complaining about the taste. She tries her best because Christmas is just around the corner and Santa Claus knows if she sucks her fingers…

Three out of four babies have a bad habit of biting their nails and putting their fingers in their mouths. This thing didn't work for any of them. I was hoping it would help a little. At a time when viruses are everywhere and pandemics are on the rise; Fingers in the mouth are not bueno! Needless to say I will try another option. It was a waste of money.
