They replace some local filters made in Texas. .

They replace some of the local filters made in Texas. The case is quite thin and the entire filter flexes when the air conditioner is turned on. Not particularly impressed. I probably won't order again. Some filters were damaged in the packaging, which does not increase the value of 12 filters at a time.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Cheap imitation of the original Flanders

This product replaces the old pre-folded Flanders 40. The old product was recommended by the company that installed our air conditioners/stoves and we have been using them for years. The old filters were durable. These new Naturalaire filters are cheap imitations of the old product. The cardboard frame is lighter and the filter cloth is thinner. The filter is still labeled MERV 8, but I'm curious. They are so thin and poorly made that I expected the filter to collapse upon installation. Doesn't

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Flanders bought from AAF, reduced quality

If you use Flanders filters like me (blue Flanders Pre-Pleat 40 LPD) you are used to a certain quality. AAF took over Flanders and unfortunately the quality was reduced, presumably to save money. The filter material is thinner, the cardboard is lighter and more wavy, and it bends easily. Everything about the new filters feels cheap. The old filters were much better. These new red versions (with the same part number as the old blue version) are practically useless. If you are looking for oldโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Confident
