Not as black as I was hoping does not match other gear

For the price and purpose of being a blank this does the job however if you are looking for a panel that is as black as this it is not like your other gearbox or the rack itself (see photo). The first image shows a 2U panel next to a black 4U rack drawer, and the second image shows a 1U panel (from the same manufacturer) next to the black part of a rack shelf. The difference is pretty obvious. They appear black in certain lighting conditions, but when you place them next to other devices that…

Pros
  • Color: Black
Cons
  • Expensive

Very good fabric! for computers and accessories

Knock out the product. As others have said, very thick. I'm building a rack and the thickness allows me swiss cheese and still feel confident that the IEC strain relief can be moved to a blank panel.

Pros
  • Installation position: Vertical, mounted on DIN rail
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Difficult conditions! Best in Computers & Accessories

Much stronger than some other blanks I've bought in the past. This is the next gauge of at least size 16 and steel Aluminum is great if you're just trying to fill a space, but I use them to connect two sides of my rack together

Pros
  • Dimensions: 3.5"H x 19"W x .31"D
Cons
  • Weak Set

Difficult conditions! for computers and accessories

Much stronger than some of the other blanks I've bought before. It feels like the next size up in sheet metal thickness. At least 16 gauge and steel. Aluminum is great if you're just trying to fill a space, but I use it to connect two sides of my rack together.

Pros
  • computer accessories and peripherals
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Sturdy and good looking

The panel has a nice matte black finish with a slight texture. There is a lip at the top and bottom. I used it to mount the power supply on the back and the panel meters on the front. It is strong yet easy to machine with bi-metal hole saws and high speed drill bits. I bought two of these, one for bipolar 15v and the other for bipolar 12v. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
