Rugged, slightly overwhelmed

I needed something for the A6500 with a monitor and microphone for outdoor and travel use. Almost all of my shots are taken by hand or outdoors. This tripod makes it possible! Comes with bow plate, bubble level and telescopes up to approx. 30 inches. The ball head holds my rig with no problems (2 lbs). My only criticism is that the tripod is a bit bulky, the plastic construction is thick and heavy. It fits easily in the side pocket of my camera bag or backpack, but when fully folded it's about…

No wonder Fantastic

Neweer makes some pretty solid audio/video equipment. I've gotten stuff from them regularly over the years and I've still not been disappointed. This tripod is surprisingly heavy, not because my camera is so heavy, but when I have a Canon SL2, a 10-18mm lens with an Nd filter, a Pro+ video mic and a video light on my top handle, which has a decent amount of weight. The ball head doesn't twitch and doesn't look like it's about to tip over. Best mini tripod I've ever had, every other mini tripod…

Large small tripod

For its size, it's quite sturdy and durable. Feels professional and not cheap at all. I was very pleasantly surprised. (Usually Neewer has decent quality at a good price. It's great quality.) The only CONS is that you can't remove the quick release plate and replace it with your own if you don't have a Neewer bolt. It looks like a standard 1/4 screw, but none of my other screws, light stand adapter threads, etc. worked. This is because this screw is actually slightly tapered or something. The…

I like this mini tripod more than I thought

When I first received and unpacked it, I went and tested it. I took it to a waterfall to see how durable it is for long exposures and how it behaves when the wind blows on it. He did a very good job. He did really well. My only concern for the future are the internal tripod legs, which protrude from the main tripod leg casings. The inner legs of the tripod are made of plastic and are fixed by turning. I understand that the mini tripod is meant to reduce weight and be more modular. I will worry…

Stable travel tripod, good price.

I bought this for work while traveling because it was very compact and looked like a solid construction. I've used the Tamrac Zipshot in the past, which is just as compact and nearly full-size, but can sway a bit in the wind. So I looked for something more stable. I used it on a trip to the San Diego area to take some long exposure sunset shots. It did its job well, although sometimes its height wasn't enough for the shot I wanted, but I knew my choice was solid or high. Be sure to secure the…

Strong but you may have to hold it

4 stars may not be enough but I have a reason. Bought this tripod for travel. I didn't want to carry a full size tripod (due to weight) and use it for night or low light photography. To that end, holding your tripod in low light worked. I was on the roof of the hotel imagining the Parthenon at night. The images were blurry until I brought the tripod to the table. Then the picture was sharp. When using this tripod I could not use it with legs in their minimum deviation. You also need to make…

Nearly perfect for camera and photography

What's good: I was looking for something compact and sturdy to support my Sony A7rIII and other cameras. That's almost all. It folds compact enough (especially if you remove the column and ball head and turn it upside down) to fit in most lens-sized pockets in your camera bag, is solidly built, large enough to be used in almost any shooting scenario, stable. . This is a good set and fits in my travel bag. Not everything is so perfect: Firstly, the central column lock. It takes a bit of work to…
