I like how it feels in my hand

I use these drill bits for sanding on a wood lathe. About once a year they slow down and then stop. The bearings on the motor will get stuck and running it longer will melt the plastic housing the bearings are in, so don't let it run longer. The R4 bearings are shielded, I replaced them with sealed ones and they last a bit longer. I like that they can be used with one hand for sharpening, so I put up with the occasional bearing sticking. The gears fill up with dust and mix with grease, be sure…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Lathe Bowl Grinding in Angle Drills

I bought this machine in 2012 to grind bowls on my lathe. I use it almost exclusively for sanding with a 2/3" velcro sanding disc. I blow it out with compressed air after each use and it has lasted almost a decade to date. When I bought it I assumed it would be good given the quantity of dust getting into the bearings would only last a few years. Surprise is still going strong. When the bearings finally wear out I'd buy another. Hope it didn't come cheap. I would have preferred a wireless one…

Pros
  • Excellent Overall
Cons
  • Doubtful

Drill fails after 2 uses - no warranty support at all

UPDATE 12-5-21: Contacted Revain twice and seller once: no response when trying to get warranty information for this drill. The gearbox broke after about 2 uses. Revane tells you to contact her but hasn't had a reply for weeks. ORIGINAL: I contacted Revain looking for warranty information because the drill only grinds noisily (no chuck rotation) when the drill encounters forward resistance. Still no response from Revain after 3 or 4 days. For example, it is not possible to drill a 1/4 inch hole

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
