Well it was easy. Avoid Xfinity Comcast rental fees.

I don't normally buy refurbished, refurbished or otherwise, but the modem has no moving parts. If it works when you plug it in, it should last as long as any other. Right of return within 90 days in case of error. It looked brand new when the box was opened, there was no mark on it and all the cables that came with it were the same. Plugged everything in, waited 5 minutes for it to boot up and connect, then went to xfinity. .com/activate. I entered my phone number, they sent me a code to enter.

You can't trust Refurbished

So I decided to replace the Xfinity gateway with a router and wireless mesh solution to avoid the monthly gateway rental. I did some research and settled on the Netgear CM500V. I have never bought anything refurbished or refurbished but I took a chance because the refurbished would arrive sooner. The first one couldn't contact xfinity no matter what anyone tried. I spent hours on the phone with xfinity and was visited by one of their technicians. At least 10 hours of my life have passed. Weโ€ฆ

Reliable upgrade at a great price

Xfinity notified me that my previous modem wasn't fast enough to support the internet speeds I'm currently paying for, so it's time to upgrade. I was surprised to find out how much these modems cost, which unfortunately is the case with anything that has voice services built in so you can use Xfinity. doing a job on their side to keep the phone line running (for some reason I have these problems every time). I've only had it a few weeks so can't comment on long-term performance, but it'sโ€ฆ

Know your product and your company!

Everything seemed fine at first, but then the TV started humming. I thought it was my TV, not believing it had anything to do with the modem I bought to connect my phone to using Xfinity services. I did some research to find out what it was. So I bought a new TV thinking maybe that was the problem but the buzzing continued. That's when we came to the conclusion that the modem was defective. Yes, the warranty period has expired, but we only asked for an exchange. After emailing this companyโ€ฆ
