Excellent AP. Couldn't be happier.

My main AP is a WAC540 and I needed to extend my Wi-Fi coverage to my garage. So I decided to buy the WAC505 and use WDS to extend my Wi-Fi network in the garage. The backhaul is 5GHz and I get 178Mbps internet speeds on both the WAC540 (wired) and WAC505 (wireless bridge). I am very happy with this facility. The performance is excellent.

Very Happy - Wireless Access Points

I have a WAC505 and two WAC510 in my house which is 2200m². floor + basement. I could get away with two access points, but with three I get 300-600 Mbps throughput across the room. Other things being equal, I'd prefer the WAC505 to the WAC510 as it's cheaper. and seems to have about the same performance as AP. The limitations I see with the WAC505 are that it has no router mode and no LAN port. I have chosen to manage my hotspots locally via a web browser interface, which works well. Basic…

Great way to expand WiFi

My basic WiFi is poor and in the basement so I added these two guys to expand it. You could probably get by with one. I didn't have a wifi repeater as the house had CAT 6 wiring, I wanted a wired connection. Installation was trivial and their smartphone app made it very easy. Now I can go from room to room and keep in touch discreetly while my phone switches from one access point to another.

  • Regular price
Cons
  • Security

Works great in networking products

I bought this to replace some unreliable TRENDnet equipment. The thing works perfectly. It has a strong signal and maintains a connection with no issues. I installed it high up on a wall in the middle of my house and I get around 350-430Mbps over Wi-Fi depending on how far I am from the device. I'm using an optional power supply (sold separately, it says) instead of POE, which I haven't tried. If you are looking for a wall or ceiling mount, this is the one for you.

Excellent Centrally Managed Consumer Access Point

As a network engineer by trade, I'm spoiled for the luxury of controller-managed wireless access points across the enterprise. Now I can experience the same luxury at home. It's easy, it's fast and I love it! UPDATE: To put it simply, the online analytics panel is not working. No big deal as the app does everything I need it to do. But just a note. Also BUYERS BEWARE if you buy USED. I bought a few used ones to upgrade my entire campus while saving money and I had to return about 3 or 4 of…

Works great!: Computers and accessories

I recently bought another POE-WAP with the same functions. My IoT devices kept losing their wireless connection. Was replaced with this one, so far so good! It has all the same features, but one of my favorites is the automatic scheduled restart! The guest network portal also works well! All my devices stay connected and respond faster than other comparable WAPs. It also has a tape control that works well! I used my existing POE injector as it doesn't come with any power options.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Some small things
