DO NOT buy this item used

I bought this from Revain and couldn't set up the system because someone had already created a password. When I contacted Netgear support about this, they refused to help me because I wasn't the "original owner". They told me I could pay them for support, which of course defeats the purpose of buying used. In addition, the Netgear support was very slow to respond. Doesn't inspire confidence, not even with a new product.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Ideal! No internet interruptions throughout the house and beyond.

My nephew is a computer guru and he recommended this to me. I just moved into a three story house with a basement on the fourth floor. My current router went offline every night in my second floor bedroom. There was no internet on the third floor. This device is perfect. So easy! I installed it. Without any technical knowledge I connected the main connection on the first floor and the satellite on the second and third floors. Great service from outside on the porch too. We use four Hulu TVs…

Terrible or harmful?

I was really hoping that this product would provide reliable WiFi throughout our new home. The grid system seemed to be the answer. Unfortunately, that didn't work at all. This device cannot transmit a strong enough Wi-Fi signal to a wireless speaker just 10 feet away unless there are obstacles in between! Calls to support brought no improvement. After trying to find a solution in the middle of two seemingly positive sessions, the lead tech had to call in a last-ditch effort to fix the problem.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Doesn't work with my Apple TV or Fire Stick; It's a hassle to set up

I spent hours setting up the Orbi network, encountered many problems and finally found that my Apple TV and Fire Stick didn't work with it worked . The whole experience was disappointing and I ended up returning the Orbis and buying something else. One problem with Orbi is that it takes a few minutes to turn on. Well, during the installation, the device needs to be restarted several times, so it takes a while. In addition, I encountered various errors that required more reboots and had to start

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Not as good as it promises

Easy to install, works great

I've seen reviews saying it was difficult to install or that you were forced to subscribe to some stupid security company or something. Fortunately, none of this was true. Installation was easy, it took me about 20 minutes to get all three devices up and running. And most of the time it's just waiting for the devices to initialize and connect to each other. The installation was as follows: 1. Open the box, you will see two satellite devices, 1 router. (They are marked as such with a temporary…

  • Free for educational purposes

Orbi isn't easy to connect, doesn't work as advertised

I bought the Orbi Mesh System based on a brilliant review on CNET. I've been using it for a week now and I'm 100% disappointed. I'm not exactly new to the technology and can follow the instructions, but here are the problems I've had so far: 1. The system is difficult to install. It comes with an "installation card" that says nothing about connecting various Wi-Fi devices in the house to the new router, nor is it clear whether the Orbi router will replace the existing router or the old router…

Pros
  • Decent performance
