I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

In fact, it certainly has decent analogues, but in order to really seriously save money, you need to look not at factory models of branded microphones, but towards microphone modders, of which a fairly decent number are now divorced. For example, google the American company Micparts (or the words DIY Microphone Kits) and you will really learn quite a lot of new things and you will be able to find analogues not only of the TLM103, but also of many other legendary microphones for quite sane…

Pros
  • An excellent microphone, with its own branded sound signature, but somewhat overpriced. I am a professional announcer with a little over twenty years of experience, I have worked on many models of studio microphones, I worked on this one, but in the end I sold it, because in everyday use there are also disadvantages in this microphone.
Cons
  • There is some equalization / compression in the microphone circuit, which is completely unnecessary / interferes with a professional microphone. That is why beginners squeak from it so much (wow, I recorded the test and I already sound like a real pro on the sample - a serious sound!), And people who have worked with experience buy other models instead, with a more transparent and flexible sound scheme. Professionals in it do not like, first of all, the uniformity of sound, ironically set by the microphone circuit itself. By the way, it is assembled on SMD parts (google the difference between SMD components and conventional radio components) and if something happens (power surge, phantom power failure on the preamp or sound card, strong static, etc.), you will not repair it for nothing, you will have to change the entire the entire board, like the motherboard in an iPhone. That at its price it will come out at a decent price, and even taking into account the shipment to Germany back and forth, then in general.

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

When buying this microphone, you need to understand that you are overpaying for the brand. There are many models of comparable sound quality for less money. I personally compared it with rode nt1a, se z5600ii a, octave 101. Rode definitely loses. But SE might be even more preferable in some situations. And at a lower cost, it is sold complete with a good suspension (spider) in a decent case. And it has multiple radiation patterns. Surprisingly, octave 101, on my voice, after simple…

Pros
  • Good quality microphone. Quite versatile.
Cons
  • Overpriced accessories. And the lack of their adequate counterparts.

Quality is top notch, happy with everything.

In skillful hands with a normal sound path and in a prepared room with this microphone, you can achieve very decent results. Many online scold him and call him overrated, but until you try it yourself in your own conditions, you won’t understand whether you need it or not. In the price segment up to 100 any microphone will be with a compromise, there is no ideal solution for this money for everything in the world. For me, this microphone turned out to be a much better choice than the previous…

Pros
  • Great for male vocals, sounds cool in modern arrangements, requires a minimum of processing, improves the sound of weak uncertain voices, is quite versatile in terms of vocal recording, especially in conjunction with a good preamp and card. An ideal option for voice acting, all the speakers who record in it are very pleased with the result, many are delighted with the purity of the sound and character, it seems to slightly compress the signal and add sand to it from above and fat to the bottom, the sound is immediately very close to the finished one
Cons
  • Some voices may require a little more D-Esser treatment, for people with a problematic C-S-S sound, this will be exaggerated even more.

I was surprised by the quality for this price.

Here is my real review after a considerable time of using the product Neumann TLM 103 Condensor Microphone. I bought a micro mainly for recitative. Also good for narrators and recording audiobooks. Here, the difference from TLM102 does not sound so bright, which is good. It’s great to record low voices on it, you get a velvety sound, but you need to work with the distance. I am satisfied with the purchase.

Best mic for the money

These mics are amazing. Such a nice warm sound. This is one of the best mics in the world for the money. Pretty, warm, but at the same time a pleasant and clear loud sound. Can't say enough about this amazing mic.

Terrific!

Take the Neumann TLM-103, add quiet room and minimal processing, and you get absolutely pure and accurate sound. I thought about this purchase for a long time, but when I first used this microphone, I wish I had bought it a long time ago. Worth the hype and the price.
