    The same size 1530v3 does not match the size of 1540v2

    Something subtle has changed in 1540v3 (version 3) compared to 1540v2. The new version is not so wide. I sent the shoes back and now I seem to be stuck with a huge restocking fee. If the size is not as expected, it becomes totally impractical to shop online.

    • The best shoes for plantar fasciitis for people who walk a lot simply don't exist. At least not what I found.

    • It's not ideal for people with high arches as it doesn't provide enough support for the foot.

    ajar left shoe - my new review

    The left shoe leans towards the left outer edge, the right one is fine. I've had a lot of New Balance shoes, it's never happened to me. For what I paid it is very bad. I usually wear 2 pairs of shoes every day. I change 2 pairs and most of the time I get a year or a half from them. I know my return period has expired, but I have not received an appraisal for a shoe that costs that much.

    Terribly hard and uncomfortable

    I'm so disappointed in them. I love New Balance shoes but these are the worst shoes I have ever worn and they cost over $100! I bought them to walk in but they hurt all the bones and muscles in my legs. You are so heavy!

    2nd attempt - my rating

    I've been wearing New Balance shoes made in the USA for many years. The size was always 9 2E. I ordered them and after about an hour they were too small and uncomfortable so I sent them back. Thinking they weren't up to standard I ordered a second pair. Same problem. They seem narrower than anything I've ever had.

    "Assembled " in USA

    Decent running shoes at best. Lace reinforcement irritates the top of the foot. The tongue sticks out when not tied tightly. They claim they are "made" in the USA. Your "Assembly" in the United States. False advertising.

    Terrible, incredibly harsh and rude

    Terrible. Causes bleeding from toes and ankles when walking for several minutes. They even cause bleeding on short walks. Tried with different types of socks, no difference. Incredibly hard and rough. Worn same size (12) in New Balance 587 to run for 10 years and the 587 fits perfectly.

    Comfortable if you are the right size

    These are very comfortable shoes. I usually wear a 9 EEEE (X-wide) with the New Balance 990, but for this 1340 I had to go down to a 9.5 EEEE. The stock plantar insert is nothing special, however, and I replaced it with a standard orthopedic insert, also from Walmart.

    Not what I expected from shoes for 100.00

    Came back as too small and not what I thought. These shoes came with laces and no paper inside the shoes. I couldn't believe they weren't used. But sanity returned because they were too small.

    Excellent stability is good for me

    After installing Superfeet and removing due to heavy squeaks (fixed with baby powder) they are supportive, comfortable and I hope they wear out.

    Comfort....!! - my new rating

    My husband works outside as a janitor 8-10 hours a day. On average, he takes 15-18,000 steps a day. Before he received these shoes, he was completely crippled in one day. But as soon as we bought them he said that the difference is between day and night. Now his feet hardly hurt after a long day.

    My dearest! the best in my rating

    These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet and the motion controls negate my overpronation and keep my feet pointed in the right direction. I love these shoes and it's a shame that New Balance is discontinuing them. I just don't understand how they make decisions.

    Plantar fasciitis pain

    After a few days of wearing this shoe, the pain level decreased dramatically. I walk a lot on hard surfaces and a few weeks ago my plantar fasciitis flared up. These shoes help a lot! I recommend everyone to try them.

    The product met and exceeded my expectations. Would buy again.

    As I said before, the 1340 V3 met and even exceeded my expectations. I love the feel and fit of this shoe. They're a little heavier than some of the other running shoes I've worn, so make sure you order the right size, lace up, and tie your shoes. It took me about a week to break it and after that I was ready to go.

    Was rubbing my head for the first so many miles. Now they're hacked and I live on them. I have problems with my feet and NB always helps me. Love her.

    Very stiff shoe, definitely not something I would run or even walk on.

    I bought these 1340 v3 NB shoes because I have others and they are great for running. I love the look of them so thought I'd leave the reservation and give them a try. My previous shoes were 1260 v6 and 1260 v7. I thought a higher number would probably be ok. To my surprise, however, these shoes were rock solid. There's enough room inside, but they were so stiff my legs ached after walking the dog around the block and I could feel blisters popping up. So for me I would say NO to these shoes.

    Bad design from New Balance. Do not buy

    I've been wearing New Balance for 25 years now. Love her! But these shoes actually hurt my feet. This is the first time I've felt the need to return a shoe. The size is approximate, I wear men's shoes because of the width. But they hurt on top of my foot, which is a weird place. There was plenty of space, not too crowded but still my feet really hurt.     My second pair of New Balance 1340, the first pair I bought, I still walk, run and use them every day after almost 2 years. I needed sturdy shoes for orthotics, these shoes can't be beat. I could believe the bad reviews it was getting, probably because buyers didn't know what 1340 meant, look it up on the New Balance website. This means a really stable platform/shoe.
