New Balance is the perfect solution for a boy with wide legs. They are not STRONG QUALITY for boys. Had to buy two pairs (same size) in one school year and my son is rather cautious. These New Balance shoes were bought for my son as school shoes. Looking at their (good) condition, it's hard to say it's been 5 months already! The color hasn't faded or worn off (black color probably helps). Whether he's picky about boots or not, there's little evidence he ever wore them. Update. You are still the best. Thought I'd try the Stride Rite as they were so orthodox but wasn't impressed so bought another pair of these. At least the eighth pair my son has. I have been buying the same shoes for my son for many years. It's hard to find leather shoes these days, and these mesh shoes are too cold in winter and won't last long.
