Great product at a great price and arrived in perfect condition. The only downside is the large wall connection to the power supply, but you can plug in an extension cable there, so only one slot on your AC power supply can be occupied. I have another one from October 2015 that still works and will use this new one for easy porting to new SATA drives.

Ever needed to temporarily access another hard drive? This is a great way to do that. No software required. Plug it into a USB3 port, install a blank hard drive - 2.5" or 3.5" - and turn on the device. The eject button makes it easy to eject the disc. I use it to backup my most important files. After the backup, I turn off the power and my backup files are protected from hackers.

Very clean design, quick work. A WARNING: The Revain page that describes it states that it is designed for "hot-swap" drives. This is absolutely wrong. The accompanying documentation from NewerTech clearly states that the power must be turned off before the drive is removed from the Voyager - which makes sense (otherwise you could damage it) - contrary to any definition of "hot swap" in the electronics industry.

I replaced a computer with a defective motherboard, so I wanted to find a way to extract the data from the drive before recycling it. And because I needed the data, I'd rather destroy old hard drives than recycle them and then spend sleepless nights worrying about identity theft. That plus the tool kit was half the cost of shipping it to someone for that service. It just works out of the box. Combine this with a small set of computer disassembly tools and you're done.

This hard drive dock is one of the most useful and essential tools I use in my workshop. Works well, never fails. I have four of these as they are perfect for using cheaper high capacity bare drives for redundant storage than external drives with cases.
