Type of review

After reading another review from someone who obviously doesn't understand the Nexuslink G.hn Coax Over Ethernet Adapter I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience with him. Product. My first house was the one I built. it had "structured wiring" and was easy to wire. My next two houses were much older and didn't have this type of wiring. It was fairly easy to run Cat5e in the first of these two houses. The second (and my current home) proved much more difficult. My current houseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Better performance than WiFi and more convenient than installing ethernet cables
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Mayor fails with these adapters

I have this Nexuslink G ordered .hn Coax-over-Ethernet adapters to replace some MoCa switches. They turned out to be a complete disappointment. I couldn't get her to work for a lifetime. I certainly wondered if this might be due to my own lack of technical ability, but other aspects of this product suggest otherwise. The included instructions are vague which I don't think bodes well for the viability of the product. They also state that the devices cannot be used with cable or internet services

Pros
  • *WARNING: This product will NOT work if your home's coaxial cable is also used for cable TV and/or internet services (e.g. Cox, Xfinity, ATT etc.)
Cons
  • Very expensive

Coax over Ethernet โ€“ brilliant!

When I first tried using these adapters I fiddled around for a while because I couldn't get a proper connection between the adapters and the coax wiring in my house could produce. I ended up creating a test script that showed that the existing coax cable hiding behind the walls had a few kinks that needed ironing out before I could successfully use it to extend my home's internet connection. Once I was able to eliminate this as the cause of my problems, these little devices became very easy toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for video streaming and gaming at an affordable price
Cons
  • Some issues
